InfiniteUSB – The answer to all our USB prayers

What is more frustrating than trying to get the USB to fit into the port on the first try? Nothing, because no matter how many times we've done it and memorized what side goes in where, we still get it wrong! With the new USB Type-C, all USB-related pains will be gone, but the change of all devices to the Type-C USB may take a while.

Until the new USB Type-C’s takes over, the normal frustrating USB ports will just have to do, but fortunately for us a new Kickstarter campaign called InfiniteUSB aims to be the answer to all our USB prayers.

You only have a limited amount of plugs that are available on your power strip at home or at work, and a lot of devices need to be kept charging at all times. Often, because of limited space, a device or two gets left out! Your tablet’s battery may be flashing continuously, because you unplugged the charger to be able to fit in your iPhone’s… InfiniteUSB is here to get rid of that by attaching a USB port on the back of the USB connector.

The idea is actually very simple, and it’s a surprise no one has thought of it sooner! Each plug has a connector on one end and a USB port on the other. When plugged in, the port gets power and can chain another connector.

If you’re nitpicking then there is just one problem with the InfiniteUSB, it’s that one plug only creates one port, so you’ll need as many plugs as devices you want to chain. But, luckily that’s not even close to a deal breaker! The plugs are low-profile and if you’re at the point where you need more than three InfiniteUSB plugs, then you really need to think about buying a USB hub.

InfiniteUSB comes in many forms – MicroUSB, Lightning and a regular USB – to make sure it fits all devices. The plug has a flat wire to get rid of all possibilities of tangles and the connectors are magnetized so you can easily fold and store your wires.

If you think you need one of these handy little devices, get on Kickstarter now and back the campaign. You could grab one InfiniteUSB plug for only 10 Dollars, that’s a worthy cost to get rid of all your USB nightmares!
