The iMom – A scary look into the future of Artificial Intelligence

We want robots to be able to do everything for us: make breakfast, do all the chores, take care of the kids, clean the house and lots more. However we’re forgetting one important thing about technology – unexpected glitches!

This is the focus of an award winning new short film called The iMom. The movie starts with a mother struggling to connect with her child, so she decides to hand him off to her iMom, or robot nanny. At this point, things get pretty dark.

The point of this film is to make you think about what it really means to give complete control over to a machine. This is a decision many of us are facing at the moment as automated systems become integrated into our daily lives.

After watching this, hopefully in the future strung-out parents aren’t willing to give up on their children and rely on technology to take care of things.
