KFM’s new logo revealed

It’s the beginning of a new season and the beginning of a new logo design for the KFM radio station, but does it work? I asked our talented, resident graphic designer Juan Arenz what he thought of KFM’s new look:

“What is your opinion on the logo?”
The logo itself is very current and they have added new colours to the design. The fact that they have added new colour to the logo means they are trying to move forward with their colour scheme, they have attempted to do something new with the existing red they had in their old logo design. It seems that they have made a very bold move, because I’m not aware of any other radio stations that have updated their logo design. All in all it is very impressive design and it’s noticeable that a fair amount of time was spent on it.

“Does it work and is it the right look and feel for KFM as a radio station?”
The new KFM logo design works in a way that it will attract new, potential listeners. I think the aim of the new undated logo design is to target a younger, brighter, and edgier audience, like KFM’s listeners, the logo design is vibrant and diverse.

“Will it work being printed on anything from caps and water bottles to outdoor signage?”
The KFM radio stations new logo design will not work, well it is possible, but it will be a difficult task to print it on merchandise and signage. Each print of the new logo will have to have a custom setup for colours and printing methods, in short, yes it will work, but no, it will not be easy for them to print out.

“Does it work overall?”
Yes, their new logo does work overall, it is current, it’s trending, and the website seems to also be revolving around the new look too. If their aim was to get attention for their new logo they got it, if their aim was to be trending they achieved that too.

All in all the decision to update the KFM logo design seems to have caused a lot of attention for the radio station, not only that but it has a great, modern look.
