Apps for the easily distracted

Are you easily distracted at work? Most of the time, right? Well, luckily technology has made it much easier for us to block out distractions and actually concentrate on our priorities.

Here are the apps you should download…

1. Isolator
This app will help you by keeping your focus on the active window. Based on the settings that you choose, Isolator will completely hide windows other than your active window. The only thing is that it is only for Mac, but Le Dimmer is an option for Windows users.

This app is great because it blurs the windows behind your active window, hides your dock bar and more.

2. Calendly
This web-based scheduling app, called Calendly helps you to make sure you’re only making bookings when you have an opening. All you need to do is enter the times you’re available for calls, meetings or lunches and send your schedule off to your co-workers and clients.

Calendly takes care of the potential distraction for you, helping you to stay engaged in whatever you are working on at the moment.

3. Todoist
If you are one of those disorganized people, or just very busy and bogged down, Todoist lets you solve that problem. You can organize your task list, collaborate with co-workers on shared tasks and schedule your items.

Since you build your own lists and priorities, you will always know which task you should be focused on, and which tasks should wait.

4. Calm
No matter how much you enjoy your job, a day at the office can be exhausting. If you need a break, Calm gives you seven free, guided meditation sessions that range from two to twenty minutes, so you always have a way to recharge.

Taking time to recharge  can minimize distractions by keeping you fresh and focused. So, put on your headphones and re-focus your energy during your break.

5. Focus Booster
No matter what your personality is like, battling distractions comes down to being disciplined and having focus. Focus Booster is a digital timer that helps you stay on task, but also ensures you take breaks to increase your long-term productivity.

This timer does not allow you to pause, so you are forced to work, and break, for the designated blocks.

6. Anti-social
This one isn’t an app, but it’s too valuable for people who can’t ignore the call of the internet. Anti-social is a browser plugin for Mac and Windows that helps you cut down on social media and web-browsing distractions when you need to get work done.

It lets you schedule productivity blocks that keep you from checking social media, getting notifications and avoiding deadlines.

All the distractions we have at work often keep us from getting a lot of stuff accomplished on a regular basis, download these apps and avoid the distractions.
