Don’t install Windows 10 if you have a Samsung PC!
Attention, Samsung computer owners: the
company would like to strongly urge you to avoid upgrading to Windows 10.
It’s not because of Microsoft’s upgrade tactics, it’s because Samsung sucks at
updating drivers!
Reports have been flowing in for
nearly a year from Samsung PC users who either can’t install the upgrade or
can’t get critical hardware to work after the install. Rather than directing
them to a real solution, Samsung reps have been telling customers that are
having issues with the Windows 10 upgrade “we don’t suggest installation of
Windows 10 to any Samsung laptop or PC.”
Nearly two years after the first builds
were made widely available, Samsung is still telling customers “the drivers
that we have on our website are not yet compatible to the latest version of
Windows.”
OK, it takes time to get updated drivers for old hardware ready. No
one’s going to argue that with you, Samsung, but 18 months?
It’s not as though Microsoft has been quiet
about the impending arrival of Windows 10 or their desire to leave Windows 8 in
the rearview mirror. The first Windows 10 downloads were made available all the
way back in 2014. Consumers got their hands on a preview build a few months
later.
To make matters worse, Samsung is also
advising its customers to contact Microsoft for further assistance. Anyone who
owns a problematic Samsung machine out there, you go ahead and do that and let
us know how eager Microsoft is to clean up Samsung’s mess.
