Facebook: Your synced photos will be deleted if you don’t download Moments app!
Yes, Facebook is rolling out yet another change. And this one will
really grind your gears!
The social media network has been sending out notifications with the big
news that all your auto-synced photos will soon be deleted. Apparently Facebook
has decided this is quite the way to convince people to download the Moments
app.
This warning was
posted on the apps site: "Photos you privately
synced from your phone to Facebook will be deleted soon. Earlier this year,
they were moved to Moments, a new app from Facebook. The Moments app lets you
organize and privately share photos from your phone, and download or delete
photos you've synced to Facebook. Moments is available for download in the App
Store and the Google Play Store."
So basically, your synced Facebook pictures are all on the Moments app,
and all you have to do to save them from deletion is to download the app.
Anyone who’s used Facebook’s auto sync in the past – you have until July
7th to save your precious snaps. Or if you don’t want to clog up
your smartphone with ANOTHER Facebook app, don’t worry you also have the option
to download your pictures and save them on your computer.
Let’s make this clear: All of your photos
will not suddenly be deleted if you don’t take action, only the photos inside
the “Synced” or “Synched from Phone” albums.
It all seems a bit shameless what Facebook
is doing here, but if you have thousands of synced selfies, you may want to
consider the download.
