Do you want to feel your lover’s heartbeat in real time? This smart ring allows you to!
Some say, one of the lamest Apple Watch features is the
ability to send your heartbeat to another Apple Watch user in real time.
A company called, The Touch has taken that somewhat dorky
feature and brought it to a new level with the HB Ring, which basically does
the same thing but in ring form.
The smart ring lets two people send each other their
heartbeats by simply tapping on the outside of the ring. Labelled the most
sophisticated ring in the world, the HB Ring connects to smart phones with an
app via Bluetooth and has up to 14 hours of battery life for active use and 160
hours of standby time.
An HB Ring must be connected to a phone with a data
connection in order to receive the pulse over the internet.
The ring is available in six sizes and even though the
company says the ring is thin; it is quite bulky compared to an average wedding
ring.
The Best Part: One version of the rings comes in real 18K
rose gold with sapphire crystal unibody housing. There are also versions that
come in rose gold or jet black, but they’re not made with real gold.
The Worst Part: They’re only sold in pairs and are quite
pricey. The 18K rose gold HB Rings cost R2990 (about R40 100) for a pair and
will ship in November this year. The normal non-gold rings cost R599 (about R8000)
for a pair and will ship early next year.
If you’re interested, take a look at the company’s website
and place your order.
What do you think of the HB Ring? It’s a bit dorktastic, and
if I had the choice I’d go with the Apple Watch.
