How to Puppy-Proof your PC!

Your furry friend loves to run and play, however it can be dangerous when they do it close to your PC or any other electrical device.

Here’s how to keep your PC safe as well as your pup!

Preventing chewing and electrocution:

- Consider replacing your wired PC accessories with wireless versions, such as a wireless mouse and keyboard.

- Bundle any loose wires, cords and cables together. Enclose them in plastic or use a spiral wire wrap tube.

- If possible get a pet repellent and spray it on your wires, but be careful not to be any in the computer openings.

- Put away any extra devices you’re not using, such as external hard drives, USB devices and speakers.

- Put plug covers on outlets that aren’t being used. A dog that has not been housebroken may lift their leg on a wall causing a power outage or electrocution.

Protecting your computer:

- When you are not using it, close your laptop and put a cover on it.

- Clean your computer fan and vents every few months as they get a build-up of pet fur.

- A dog’s tail can do some serious damage, so never leave any liquids close to your PC.

- Keep your speakers and any other items, such as your monitor away from the edge of your desk.

- Use see-through protective covers on your laptop, monitor and smartphone.
