Stand up Stand creates a better way to use your laptop
Do you spend majority
of your day at a desk on your laptop? If you answered yes, then you might be
interested in the new Kickstarter project, a portable device called the Stand up Stand.
What does this nifty
device do? Well, it can be transported when collapsed in a handy tube, which is
also used to create the structure that holds your laptop at a much healthier
and more ergonomic height when you are working from a standard desktop.
An investigation has
shown that spending long periods of time sitting at a desk, hunched over your
laptop can be harmful to your health. When you use the Stand up Stand it will
help you straighten your back and provide a healthier standing position.
The creator of the
Stand up Stand explains: “Studies show that sitting at work for extended periods of time can
lead to severe health issues and decline in overall productivity.
Standing, for just thirty minutes each day, has been proven to combat these
health concerns and boost energy levels and concentration during and after the
workday.”
This clever stand comes in two handy
versions, one for your laptop and one for your tablet. The multiple adjustable
legs allow you to configure the stand in a stand up mode, a sitting mode and a
typing mode! Each one of the modes gives you the proper viewing angle and
height, plus it all fits securely in a featherweight aircraft grade anodized aluminium
tube for easy everyday carrying.
The design of the
Stand up Stand was actually inspired by a previous Kickstarter project that was
successful, called the VERSI Docker Stand. This device was an adjustable
dock/stand/charger for all your mobile devices and tablets. The Stand up Stand
expanded from this concept, but it was designed to function as a stand that can be easily used for many activities and functions.

information about this clever device, jump over to the Kickstarter website for
more details and you can even make a pledge.
