Asus releases new laptop range in SA
In this age it’s a lot more common for someone to buy a
smartphone or a tablet, but if you’re someone who would prefer to stick to
working on a good old laptop, then you’ll be excited to know that two new
state-of-the-art laptops have been unveiled in South Africa.
The Taiwanese computer maker Asus has recently launched two
new laptops in SA and guess what, they offer cool, new security with a fingerprint
reader and a robust design. There are two different designs, the B-series is a
hardcore machine built to take hits with its carbon fibre reinforced LCD cover,
let’s take a look at some of the features:
- Powered by Windows 8.1 Pro and an Intel processor
- Extra security with a fingerprint reader
- Greater connectivity with a ASUSPRO Ultra Docking Station
- Designed to be ultra-light and slim
- Comfortable keyboard with responsive SensePoint and extremely precise touchpad
- 180° hinge and anti-glare HD/HD + screen
- LCD cover is constructed to be extremely durable and carbon-fibre-reinforced
- Anti-shock hard drive is tough and protects all your data
- In case of any accidents, the keyboard is spill-resistant

The P-series laptops on the other hand are more suited for
the consumer market, they don’t have the 180° hinge feature, but the company
says you should get a longer battery life from the removable pack, here are a
few of the features the P-series offers:
- Powered by Windows 7 Ultimate
- It is reliable and has a built in anti-shock hard drive
- Incredibly user-friendly and features: a palm-proof touchpad, BIOS user interface and a built in business card holder
- Locate stolen notebook with the Intel anti-theft technology

Despite PC sales going up in 2014, people would still much
rather choose a smartphone or a tablet as their technology of choice and way to
access the internet, but laptops are still important even as smartphone sales
increase.
Statistics show that in the last three months the
traditional computer is starting to grow again, slowly but surely, if you’re
interested in the new B-series and P-series machines they will be available by
the end of November.
