New Clutter tool for Microsoft Office 365

Anyone who has an overflowing inbox knows it’s not an enjoyable task to separate the important stuff from all the boring stuff that just distracts you, luckily for you Microsoft has just released their new tool for Microsoft Office 365, it’s called Clutter.

So you want to be able to manage your inbox and prioritize your emails properly within Outlook? Well Clutter is probably your best bet; it’s basically a smart email filter that helps you sort out your emails depending on what’s most important to you. This great little feature takes advantage of Office Graph’s machine learning to decide which emails aren't important and automatically sort them into the new folder called Clutter.

Clutter is a lot like Google’s Priority Inbox for Gmail, it learns from your actions over time so it can surface the most important emails while weeding out the messages it thinks you’re just going to ignore. The nice thing is these messages aren't gone forever, they won’t appear in your inbox, but you can view them anytime in your Clutter folder, from any one of your devices!

The little email filter is a great thing to have, it is continuously learning and adapting to your patterns, plus you can train Clutter by marking messages in your inbox as Clutter or simply move it to the Clutter folder.

It is your choice if you want to use Clutter, all you need to do is go to the Outlook Web App menu and enable it, once you've done this you’ll see the new Clutter folder appear and it’ll start filtering out the less important emails.

Microsoft has said that some users have noticed no changes in their email inbox when they first turned on Clutter, this is because Clutter still has to gather information and predictions about your habits. You can help Clutter along by interacting with the Clutter folder, the more emails you move the faster it will learn.

This new tool has been released to Outlook users, starting with English-language business users and those who participated in the company’s First Release program were the first to get the nifty little tool. The rest of the business users will only be getting Clutter later this month.

Microsoft said: "We believe this is the start of something game-changing - building digital memory across applications to create a highly personalized experience that helps people get more done."
