Flow: Change the way you scroll

We've all become very familiar with the good old’ trusty computer mouse, but it seems like now might be the time to move on and move forward. There is a brand new Indiegogo project called Flow and it looks like it could the answer to all your computer mouse and trackpad troubles! Not only that, but this gesture-based gadget could replace your mouse altogether.

So the Flow definitely doesn't look anything like any other mouse you've seen before, it resembles more of a dial. It has a round design with a flat top and a ring on the outside that spins so that you can zoom and scroll, the top part of the flow also has gesture and touch control, so there are plenty of ways to use it at work or home.

Imagine if you could simply wave your hand over the top of the nifty, little Flow gadget and be able to carry out so many different functions, from different apps like Photoshop to entertainment like YouTube, the options are endless! The thought of being able to skip a song or turn up the volume with a quick wave of the hand is just amazing, and for all those keen gamers it can be used to select weapons plus the gesture control comes in handy.

If you sit and work on a computer all day you probably know about the harmful effects of the mouse. When we use a mouse regularly, we use the same muscles over and over again; this can all lead to discomfort, pain or even Workplace Musculoskeletal Disorders (WMSDs). Luckily with the Flow you will have full use of all your muscles and your hand and wrist movements aren't limited, allowing you to work effectively without causing harm to yourself.

With the Flow it connects via Bluetooth so there are no tangles of wires to worry about: just unpack it, turn it on, and feel the speed and precision at your fingertips. At the moment the Flow works with OS X, but support for Windows, iOS, Linux and Android is on the way.

If you want to get your fingertips on one you’ll first need to help Flow to reach its goal by pledging and then you’ll see one on your desk by next June, so it looks like it’s time to ditch our mechanical rodents for good!
