YouTube now has a new, better look

The most popular video website on the internet has just revealed a number of awesome updates that will apparently bring a better level of functionality as well as a more consistent look and feel.

Yes, YouTube has announced in their blog that they have started updating the website with a new PC design – other features will be coming out as the year goes on.

For the mobile app, YouTube will also be updated with a cleaner design, which includes a white header and navigation tabs at the bottom of the apps so they’re closer to your thumbs! The video site also created a new library tab as well as an accounts tab.

Some other great features that YouTube will be introducing to the mobile app include:

      -          Swiping to jump to the next video

      -          Speeding up and slowing down videos

      -          Changing the shape of the video to vertical, square or horizontal

      -          The ability to browse and discover while watching a video

The new logo YouTube chose isn’t really very different from the original one, with the same black, red and white colour scheme. However the letters have been moved closer together and a new play icon has been placed new to the logo.

YouTube has also finally decided to introduce the Dark Theme which turns the background dark, creating a more cinematic experience for night time viewing.

With the new cleaned up look and logo, YouTube has finally made those changes that were much needed.
