#2 Unplug for safety

As a second safety precaution, unplug your computer out of the wall plug – this is just to make extra sure that is computer is completely switched off.

#3 Look out for smoke and smells

If you ever see smoke coming from your computer or smell something burning, immediately stop what you are doing, unplug your computer and allow it to cool for a few minutes.

Always remove metal rings, watches, bracelets, etc. if you are going to be working around a high voltage device – this is any easy way to get electrocuted.
