Can we live without technology?
These days, basically
everyone on this planet uses technology in some way, shape or form. So, when we
ask ourselves “can we live without technology?” the obvious answer would be no.
However, some of us
think that naturally we could live without technology, after all people have
been around for thousands of years without technology and they survived their
day to day lives.
But, there is a
difference between living and “living”. You can live without technology, where
you have nothing and are surviving day to day just to stay alive. You will
probably always be hungry, dirty and weak from diseases. It is so much better
to live in a way where everything you could possibly need is just a few steps
away. Your whole world is controlled and you will have excellent health!
Since the
technological revolution this state of living has pretty much been around. If you
think about it, you would probably much rather be eating a warm meal in front
of the TV, than running away from a saber-toothed tiger.
Our lives now are
completely entwined with technology, so without technology we would just not be
able to look after ourselves.
Let’s start with
getting up in the morning. There’s no alarm clock, so that’s a bit tricky. Jump
in a hot shower, no ways. You could heat up some water up, but that would mean
you still have to build one and now you’re running late because of the no-alarm-clock
situation.
Just imagine going
home after work or school, sitting on your bed. No music, no internet, no TV,
no games, no phones, no life without technology.
It is technology that
has made us what we are today, and if technology just disappeared then we would
too!
We cannot live without
technology. Full stop. Game over.
