Keep your pooch fit and stylish with the Buddy smart collar
Humans have their
fancy devices and gadgets, so it’s only fitting that man’s best friend gets a
little tech gadget of their own. Welcome the Buddy smarty dog collar!
The Buddy collar was
created by Squeaker, the same company that created something called the
Poochlight, an LED dog collar that keeps your pooch safe at night. The new
Buddy device aims to keep you on point about the whereabouts of your pet and
the activities they get up to.
The device office
basically the same functionality found in many human fitness trackers,
including GPS tracking, a temperature sensor, an accelerometer, Bluetooth
connectivity, a rechargeable battery and even a built-in OLED information
display.
All these features are
packaged together in a very futuristic, waterproof collar that has funky LED
lighting effects, so your best friend will be the coolest pooch in town.
The device’s app,
which is available for iOS and Android, allows you as the owner to create a
virtual activity fence for your dog. You will be alerted if your dog somehow
moves beyond the activity fence. In addition to this, the Buddy collar also
comes with a WiFi enabled base station that will also fire off LED lighting
alerts if your dog moves out of its designated activity area.
AND if you happen to
be an Apple Watch owner, there is an app for the smartwatch that allows you to
control the Buddy collar’s lighting system as well as track your dog’s activity
via integration with Apple’s health app.
Yes, this all may seem
like a bit much to track your dog’s daily habits, but if you think about it, it’s
better to be interested in what your dog is up to than to pay thousands for pet
surgery when your pup wonders somewhere dangerous.
The Buddy comes in
small, medium and large and you can pre-order one of these cool devices from
the company’s Kickstarter campaign today!
