Secure your Password Today!
If you are using the same password for most
of your accounts or have your password saved on your PC or written down at your
desk then you are putting yourself at risk!
Your password is meant to protect you, but
you need to know how to make sure it is a secure password to ensure protection.
Read and memorise these tips to improve
your safety…
n Create a different password for all your different accounts and
never keep your passwords in plain sight, such as on your desktop or under your
keyboard.
n Try not safe passwords in your browsers. Although this makes life a
lot easier, it can be dangerous if your PC is ever hacked or stolen. If the
worst happens, log out of all of your accounts and change all your passwords.
n Every few months change your passwords.
n Make sure your passwords are complex and include at least 8
characters, uppercase and lowercase letters, special symbols and numbers.
n When it comes to security questions, it may seem like a good idea,
but the answers can sometimes be found on social media so it is best to lie
about the answers.
n Never rely on a password manager. Although software such as this is
helpful, it is risky! If the software is ever hacked all your passwords will be
compromised.
n The best thing you can do is turn on two factor authentication. Typically
this will combine your password and pin or your password along with a code sent
to your cell phone.
Follow these steps and you will be on your
way to becoming better protected! Should you need assistance improving your
