You need to delete this information whether it be for a personal reasons, security or something else altogether.

No matter what your reasons may be, it is good to know how to clear your history and private data, and Internet Explorer 7 makes it really easy for all users. Here’s how:

      1.       Click on Tools in the far right hand side of your browser tab.

      2.       On the drop-down menu, click Delete Browsing History and you’ll be given a list of options.

      3.       Choose Delete all – this will remove everything that is listed; otherwise choose the delete button next to the section you want to remove.

Here’s each section explained so you know what you’re deleting…

Temporary Internet Files: Your internet explorer will store images, multimedia files and sometimes even copies of the websites you go to so the loading time is reduced next time you go to that same page. To remove all the temporary files, simply click the Delete Files button.

Cookies: When you go to a specific website, a text file is saved on your hard drive that is used by the site to store your settings and other information. This cookie is then used by the website each time to give you a customised experience or provide your login details.

Browsing History: This one is pretty simple. Internet explorer will record and store a list of all the website you have visited while you browse the web.

Form Data: This is the information that you fill into forms online. For example do you notice that every time you’re filling in your cell phone number or name, the entire number or name populates that field automatically? This is because Internet Explorer has your details stored – this is a serious privacy issue and you should always delete your form data.

Passwords: When you login on a website, you will usually be asked if you want Internet Explorer to remember the password for next time, to remove these saved passwords (for obvious safety reasons) click on Delete Passwords.

When it comes to getting rid of your internet history as well as your private data, it is a step that has to be done to ensure that you are safe online – but whatever the reasons may be, make sure you know these quick and easy steps.
