You Can Now Use your iPhone as a Magnifying Glass!
Sure, our eyes aren’t getting any better with age, but
doesn’t it seem like the writing in your magazines are just getting smaller and
smaller? Here, a simple solution for when you forget your reading glasses at
home.
What you do: Upgrade
to iOS 10 if you haven’t done so already. Then go to Settings > General> Accessibility > Magnifier and
toggle the switch to On. Now triple-click the home button to start
Magnifier. (You can do this when your phone is locked, as well.)
Why it works: The
Magnifier is more powerful than normal camera zoom, making it easier to read
the fine print.
Other features: It
also has a handy tool for when the menu is too hard to read in a dimly lit
restaurant. Just hit the lightning-bolt icon within Magnifier and a low-level
light will accompany the virtual magnifying glass. (Bonus: It’s not as
blindingly bright as the standard Flashlight app that came with your iPhone.)
