Do we really need to fill our home with buttons to remind us to buy stuff?

Get ready, Amazon is planning to invade your cupboards and fill your home with little things called “Dash buttons.” These buttons can be pressed in order to ensure you never run out of anything from paper towels and coffee to energy bars and bottled water.

If you are an Amazon Prime member, the buttons will be available to you for free. They are meant to be placed near any items of yours that always need replenishing. For example, you can stick the Gillette button in your bathroom cabinet and when you run out of razor blades, you can just press the button and it’ll instantly purchase them through your Amazon account!

Yes, it is definitely a clever idea, but surely it wasn't such a huge problem that needed fixing in the first place? It’s not exactly rocket science to simply open up the Amazon app on your phone and order the items from there.

Shortly after watching the video, you can’t help but think there could be a few problems if you have a household with kids. If you have a child and you decide to use these buttons in your home, then you should prepare for the day when you come home from work and discover 500 rolls of paper towels on your doorstep.

Luckily there is a solution to the potential threat that Amazon has incorporated. When you place an order on an item using the button, a notification will be sent to your phone confirming he order. So, fortunately for you, if a button has accidentally been pressed 50 times, you can cancel the order via the notification.

In my opinion I think the Dash button isn't necessary at all, how hard is it to simply pick up your phone and place an order? But according to the Amazon Dash button commercial, without the buttons, there will be complete and utter devastation when you discover the coffee has run out!
