Dojo is like a digital pet rock
Majority of connected
home security systems have critical flaws that leave them vulnerable to spying,
including encryption issues and weak passwords. In the smart-home community,
the responsibility of policing our devices is our responsibility, but most of
us don’t know where to begin.
This is where Dojo comes
in – A two-device system that monitors all your connected equipment for cyber-attacks.
One part of the Dojo connects to your routers, while the other looks exactly
like a smooth black rock and flashes different colours based on what’s
happening on your network.
There are three
different colours: green means good, orange means something is happening but
the system is taking care of it, and red means you need to intervene immediately.
Dojo is battery powered and connects via Bluetooth; it is a pet rock unlike any
other. With the blink of an eye, the overall situation of your home security is
revealed to you!
But red isn’t necessarily
a serious danger sign, it could just mean your mom is trying to access your
living room camera, or change the password on the alarm system. Luckily the
Dojo knows the difference between “human behaviour” and “device behaviour.” Only
the human behaviour scenarios will give users the choice to decide how the
day-to-day interactions with the device are going to look. You’ll get an alert
on the app asking if you want to “block”, “allow once” or “block this attempt.”
There is a certain way
your security camera should behave and things it should never do, Dojo analyses
this and builds profiles of how they communicate. From there, it can keep a
lookout for deviations from these profiles, without you having to do anything.
Every one of your
devices is suspect until proven otherwise – the Dojo can help fix the problem!
