Would you wear the Neyya smart ring?
Smart rings are not a
new thing, they’ve been around for quite a few years now, but people have never
really been that interested in them. As wearable tech, like the Apple Watch,
become more popular the public is slowly catching on.
A new smart ring
called Neyya has been launched, and it is hoping to ride the wave of
tech-powered fashion accessories!
The base of the ring
is made of stainless steel, while the top is smooth and flat with a capacitive
touchpad embedded with a tiny indicator LED. The touchpad’s surface works as an
interface tool for your devices, allowing you to swipe up, down, left and right
as well as tap for different functions.
The Neyya is powered
by a lithium battery, so the smart ring can go for about 10 days on standby,
and three days with regular use.
Once the device is
connected to your iPhone or desktop computer (via Bluetooth), you will have
access to a wide range of ring-assisted controls, one of them being volume and
selection control of your iTunes app.
The device’s manual
offers more non-app functions when the ring is paired, such as Siri activation!
Once the Neyya app is downloaded, you will have a larger array of functions at
your fingertips, including the ability to control your Roku and GoPro devices.
The device will
vibrate and light up when a call comes in, so answering a phone call is pretty
seamless. And the cool blue LED power indicator on the docking station is
surprisingly attractive and cleverly designed.
While the Neyya is
definitely one of the best smart rings we’ve seen, the device falls a bit short
in the style department. It comes off as clunky and oversized, even though it
comes in many different sizes, making it somehow; just too big!
Of course, style
depends on the person, so many will like its design just fine. If you’re
enthusiastic about getting your hands on a Neyya, it will be sold on Amazon
later this month!
