Kubo – The Coding Robot!
Have you ever seen a robot the size of a can of cool drink
teach children how to code? No? Well, the Kubo robot uses a special coding
method, allowing kids to learn code without having to spend all day staring at
a computer screen.
Kubo is set with its own unique coding language called
TagTile, which makes children fit puzzle pieces together to give Kubo
instructions. E.g. They can program Kubo to do certain movements, like turn
right, reverse and go forward.
So how does Kubo ride over these puzzle pieces and magically
know what to do? Using RFID technology, Kubo uses its built-in scanner to scan
the piece and read what to do.
Kubo is a simple, yet effective way to teach young children
how to code, without them having to stare at a computer.
Arrow Electrics said: “Kubo offers the richest and most
simple tangible coding experience for kids by the introduction of the
puzzle-based coding language called TagTiles.”
If you plan on buying the Kubo, the package will include the
head, body, charging cable, three function tiles, sound and light tiles, speed
tiles and a variety of direction tiles.
For those who want their children to learn something other
than code, Kubo has expansion packs available that will teach kids’ things like
spelling, maths and music.
Kubo is attempting to raise money on Indiegogo, all early backers
of the campaign can order the robot and expect to receive it this year.
