-- Weird email messages. People start complaining that you’ve been sending them strange emails or you check your sent folder and notice emails that have been sent that you haven’t written.

-- Programs magically appear. You can check in Control Panel -> Programs and Features to see what you have installed. If you notice any new programs that you never bought or installed, there is a change that you’ve been hacked.

-- Your password doesn’t work. When you enter your password that you know is right and it doesn’t work, then this could be a sign that a hacker as infiltrated your account and changed your login details.

-- Strange internet activity. Many hackers can take control of your PC and use it as if they are sitting right in front of it. If you notice weird internet activity (check if it isn’t someone in your family first), then you could be in trouble.

QUICK TIP: It is more common for your PC to be attacked by a virus than by a hacker.

-- Your system can’t be updated. Hackers have the ability to put malware on your PC; this can stop you from downloading any protection such as antivirus software or even updating your current software.

-- Super slow computer. Your computer running slow or slower than usual is a sure-fire way to know if someone has hacked your PC.

-- Unusual disk activity. Is your hard drive working overtime? This could either be your antivirus software scanning or a hacker searching through your data to steal or damage.
