5 of the Strangest PC Devices ever made

Everything you do on your computer comes down to your keyboard and your mouse, and this has worked fine since the beginning of time. However some companies have created some strange computer attachments and gadgets that are just plain weird...

A normal keyboard can damage your wrists, elbows and forearms; luckily the ingenious Safetype keyboard was created! You use this weird device by typing on the sides at a 90 degree angle, however there is one problem – how will you see what you’re typing? The problem was solved by adding rear-view mirrors to the already ridiculous design.

What could be better than using the power of your mind to destroy the bad guys in your favourite game? Nothing, obviously! This rather strange yet cool device connects to your face and allows you to control functions with muscle movements. There is one downside though, all that twitching and frowning can cause face aches and horrible headaches.

One of the weirdest devices ever created was the Titan Sphere, which tried to combine a joystick with a normal gamepad. So, the gamepad was separated and a cylindrical shape was added in the middle, allowing the two separated halves to move around. The idea was the hold the weird device in your lap and use it like a joystick. Unfortunately the idea was a fail! Surprise, surprise!

Clearly back in 2006 Toshiba had way too much time and money on their hands. They managed to create a massive full face helmet that was used as a virtual reality headset but looked like the user was wearing a TV on their head! The image you see inside the helmet moved depending on how your tilted your head, plus you had the added illusion of snapping your neck under the weight of the strange device on your head.

Gaming gloves have never worked, and they never will work, ever. But still some companies push through and continue to try and make a gaming glove that will be the next big thing. The Peregrine uses sensors to read your hand movements; however you’ll still be waving your hand and fingers around like an idiot to control your game.
