Don’t get Hacked while Looking for Love this Valentine’s Day
With Valentine’s Day steadily approaching, more and more
people are creating profiles on online dating sites. These singles may be
looking for love, but hackers are looking for an easy way to make money.
According to recent studies, five of the top dating apps
have been reviewed and were found to be extremely vulnerable to hacking!
While signing up on a dating site isn’t exactly the same as applying
for a new bank card, you still have to give out a lot of personal information about
yourself when you join, which makes large dating apps the perfect targets.
Here’s how we can protect ourselves against getting hacked
this Valentine’s Day...
-- As mentioned before, most dating sites and apps are at
risk of being attacked. Installing a web filter can help by blocking access to
specific websites that could cause dangerous security incidents.
-- A separate network specifically for mobile devices can
help to protect the rest of the network if there is ever an attack or
infection.
-- If you are going to join the online dating scene make
sure you find out all you can about the website or app BEFORE you join.
If you’re looking for your soul mate online that’s
completely acceptable these days, but make sure you’re careful where you’re looking!
