Tech upgrades we’re really thankful for!

Remember the dark ages of 80’s technology? Clunky TV sets and those floppy disks that always broke. Now, in 2015, the old school tech has thankfully been replaced with way better, more portable devices.

Let’s look back on the tech products that came from back in the day, and compare them to their faster, more modern counterparts…

v  The Evolution of the Phone Charger
We’ve all been there, the moment when you’re out, at work or on a weekend away and your phone dies. That’s the moment you realise you’ve left your phone charger at home – consider your plans ruined! While chargers back in the day used to make you think of long cords in a tangled mess, you can now get yourself a nifty little portable charger that can fit in the smallest of pockets.

  v  Cassette to MP3 Player
Yes, cassette players were the first portable music devices, although they weren’t very portable at all. You had to pick your favourite tape to play on the repeat before heading out for a jog. MP3 players offer a whole world of music in an incredibly portable and small format.

  v  Computer to Tablet
From the one slow, box computer that the whole family used to fight over, to the introduction of a tablet for every member of the family. Our relationships with computers have changed drastically. The internet has made an impact the most though, it has completely revolutionized the computer world.

v  Floppy Disc to Samsung Portable SSD T1
These days we take for granted the tiny thumb drives we can carry around in our back pocket, but contain multi-gigabytes of data. It was not so long ago that we stored information on the good old floppy disc. To put it in perspective you would need 9,532 110KB floppy disks to equal one gigabyte!

We have come a really long way from the days of one family computer with a floppy disc drive to being able to fit all the devices we need to use in one small bag!
