The next version of Google Glass may be coming soon
The rise and fall of
Google Glass from cool edge device to office joke may be about to take another turn…
A new set of FCC (Federal Communications Commission) documents filed by Google offers
a little peek at an upcoming device that is equipped with Bluetooth and WiFi,
just like the first version of Google Glass.
In the documents, the
device is termed as “GGI”, however it doesn’t go into great detail about what
the device is all about, but small bits of information point towards the
possibility that it might just be the second version of Google Glass.
Device makers are
required to submit products to the FCC for safety review before they hit the
market, making it difficult to sometimes keep the nature of the new release
completely in the dark, no matter how vague the description is.
Nest founder Tony Fadell has been tapped by Google to redesign and relaunch the wearable device,
but he has offered few details about what the next version of Google Glass will
look like or when exactly it will arrive. Although, a report claims that the
next version of the device will be revealed some time this year.
But, there have had
false alarms based on Google FCC filings before, so it might just turn out to
be something else entirely…
Do you think that a
new, more updated version of Google Glass will be coming out soon?
If this is
true, let’s hope it’s not a total flop like Google Glass was the first time
around.
