Tips to keep your iCloud data safe
In light of recent events (the leak of over 100 celebrities
private pictures online) I think it’s important to know how to keep your iCloud
data secure, it’s not only famous celebrities who have sensitive pictures and
videos on their iCloud. Keeping that in mind here are a few tips to make sure
your private data stays private:
1)
First of all ALWAYS use a strong password, it
may seem unimportant because you think no one will ever find out what your
password is, but it’s easier than you think, hackers are not afraid to use
brute force to invade your privacy. When choosing a password make sure it is
unique, uses upper and lower class letters and include numbers too, try to
avoid using the same password for every account and website you use.
2)
Make it extremely hard for hackers to access your
data and turn on two-step verification; this requires a password and another
form of verification, doubling the security on your device. To turn on two-step verification go to: My Apple ID – Manage you Apple ID and sign in –
Select password and security than tap “Get Started”
3)
You should always keep track of what you've backed
up on your iCloud, you can choose which of your apps to turn on or off, you
need to decide which ones are save for you want to back up. Remember that you
can always just back up your pictures and videos on a regular basis using your
desktop computer using iTunes.
Be safe and use these simple tips to keep your private data from being compromised, you wouldn't want your embarrassing selfies all over the web for everyone to see.
