The selfie swing is the selfie stick’s new brother

Let’s face it, everyone simply loves taking selfies! No matter how irritating the selfie stick may be to you, many people use them all the time. Most of phone manufacturers these days have been working to design something that can aide people who are obsessed with selfies. Asus has decided to make a different version of the selfie stick – the selfie swing.

The selfie swing is an attachment to your smartphone. The idea is to facilitate good quality selfies to users without having to carry around a massive selfie stick. The selfie swing is a nifty phone attachment that can double as a stand and an arm extender for the perfect selfie.

It’s not really clear what the idea of the swing is. It seems the point is to open and hold it while taking a selfie, which gives you some additional space between your face and your phone. OR you can set your phone to take a timed shot and use the swing as a phone stand – no need to ask that stranger to take a picture!

Once you are done taking a million photos of yourself, all you have to do is retract the selfie swing and it becomes a frame for the phone, which could possibly give it some protection against impact.

It doesn’t seem like Asus’ new gadget will make a huge difference in most people’s selfie taking adventures, the selfie stick does have one advantage – it’s discreet. It’s not obvious at all that you’re carrying it, an even after you do open it, it’s not as obvious as holding a giant selfie stick in your hand. Which I think looks just ridiculous.

Asus has paired the selfie swing with the ZenFone Selfie, a smartphone very much focused of giving you the best possible selfie you can take.

So, for all those selfie lovers, who clearly have nothing better to do than take selfies of themselves all day – both the ZenFone Selfie and the selfie swing will be globally available later this year.
