You should NEVER use your phone in these places…

Cell phone addiction is a real thing, so if you want to start taking steps to lighten your digital dependency then you need to zero in on your weaknesses first. Here are places where you really, really need to put your phone away.

In a movie theater. Especially when the lights have gone out and the movie has started.

In an actual theater. Unless it is intermission or someone is messaging you because of a serious emergency.

At a hospital. People’s lives are at stake, a hospital is not the place to play Candy Crush.

In a museum. You’re never going to do anything with that picture you just snapped, so put the phone away and enjoy it.

In the checkout line. The cashier and the people behind you in the line don’t want to hear your whole conversation or have to wait because you’re busy sending messages to your boyfriend.

At a restaurant. Remember back in the day when you used to talk to the people at your table, and actually have a conversation?

At the gym. Don’t be one of those people that take a hundred selfies in the mirror and don’t actually work out.

On a plane. When the flight attendant tells you to turn off your phone, you turn off your phone!

During a job interview. Don’t even put it on silent or vibrate. Turn it off.

In a fitting room. It is possible to buy clothes without sending pictures to your mom or best friend first.

During a wedding ceremony. Even if the bride looks amazing, and you want to post that picture on Instagram, it’s just plain rude.

In the shower. Is this even possible or necessary? The time to make boundaries is now.

At a church. If there is a higher power and you want to communicate with them, you can’t communicate with them over WhatsApp.

At a graveyard. I’m pretty sure if there really are ghosts, they would want your full attention.

At the spa. Facebooking and sending messages in the middle of a massage kind of defeats the whole purpose.

During a manicure. You need your hands to type, so you can’t get a manicure at the same time. It won’t take long. Wait it out!

On the toilet. Well, this is one place you don’t want t to take a selfie. And because ewww.

If you want to stop the bad habit of constantly staring at your phone, then you need to zero in on your weaknesses first and know when to put your phone away.
