The 25 worst passwords of 2015 will put society to shame

When it comes to people making up passwords, we’re not very good at it. The annual “Worst Passwords List” was released and it revealed that humans are still not choosing unique and secure passwords.

“Password” and “123456” still remain in the top two spots on the list – this is where they’ve been for the past five years! Several other passwords that weren’t on the 2014 list include “welcome” and “starwars” (in line with the release of The Force Awakens).

If you see your password on the list, make it your 2016 resolution to do better. Here are the 25 worst passwords of 2015…

1.       123456 (unchanged from 2014)
2.       password (unchanged)

If you’re a bit of a failure when you choose your passwords, use these tips to help you choose something better than “12345”…

- Use passwords with 12 characters or more with mixed types of characters.

- Avoid using the same password over and over again on different websites.

- Use a password manager to organise and protect your passwords, generate random passwords you can use and automatically log into websites.

People still remain indifferent when it comes to choosing a proper password that will be safe enough to protect all your personal information – pick one that is strong and stay away from the trends!
