Why spam is such a problem

“Email spam, also known as junk email or unsolicited bulk email (UBE), is a subset of electronic spam involving nearly identical messages sent to numerous recipients by email

Let’s admit spam is a huge frustration for all of us, there’s nothing worse than logging into your email account and seeing your spam folder is filled to the brim with random, useless emails trying desperately to advertise their sites or tricking you into clicking on the links.

For businesses spam is even more of a burden, it can add up to a lot of money lost and spent trying to prevent it from happening, I’m sure if you own a business you can think of a better use for your money. For the people that sit and send spam to you, it is amazingly cheap, with just a modem and computer spammers can send hundreds to thousands of messages per hour!

Think about the amount of junk mail you get each day, not only does it take up a lot of your valuable time but it can also hurt the reputation of your business as well. It is so easy to fake or “spoof” the email address that an email shows it’s being sent from, you definitely don’t want your customers or clients getting spam or malware emails from your businesses name in the senders address bar.

But in some cases the days of in-boxes flooded with spam messages are just a faint memory to some email users, but what spam has lost in volume it has gained in power, more than 70% of IT companies have a spam incident and it has seriously disrupted the business almost to the point that it has stopped productivity all together.

Email is a critical business tool; do you really want to see an array of pornographic website ads, chain letters and long unrelated messages from “professionals” who can’t spell? When all you really want is to read your important business emails?
